"Rain"
By: Kaitlin
Spotsylvania,VA
10/27/2008
Tabitha Marlin did not go outside. It was out of the question, and she would not have any talk of it. Ever since the rain started to fall, Tabitha refused to take one step into the outdoor world. Maybe there was something wrong with her, as she and others had often suspected, or maybe she had a rare phobia; she had heard of that, the folks that wouldn’t go outside. The only problem was that she had been fine, had enjoyed the outside world…until the rain had started to fall in Joplin City.

I believe in believing. Life is hard, filled with injustice, anger and insecurity. Middle school is were these feelings live, breath and multiply. But one thing I've found in my short thirteen years is that everyone needs something to believe in.

Henry James once wrote “Be not afraid of life. Believe that life is worth living, and your belief will help create the fact”
There comes a time when every life goes off course. In that deciding moment you must choose your direction. Will you fight to stay on path? Will you let others tell you who you are?
